ER100 connects your wind turbine and wind park safely to the internet. ER100 and ES100 combined gives you the benefit of connecting wind turbines and wind parks to the internet and thereby making them accessible from anywhere in the world. ER100 VPN protects your wind turbine and wind park from unauthorized access.

Ethernet has become a standard for communication between devices in the industry today. Especially fiber optic Ethernet switches are used. In the wind industry, more and more switches are used for both communication in the wind turbine, between wind turbines (park communication) and as connection point to the internet. Many switches are on the market today, but none of them are as highly optimized and robust as is needed for the industry and the harsh environment of wind turbines as Mita-Teknik’s ES100 (Ethernet switch) and ER100 (Ethernet router) switches.

Features

ES/ER100 has 8 10/100 MBit Ethernet ports where 2 or 4 ports (depending on type) are fiber optic ports. Fiber optic ports are either with SC connector multi-mode or SFP module with LC connector. SFP modules are delivered as default for multi-mode cable, but can easily be exchanged to be used with single-mode cables. Multi-mode fiber optic cable length can be up to 2000 meters - while the single mode cable length can be up to 80 kilometers.

ES/ER100 has certain special features that makes it well-suited for industry and wind turbines:

1. Battery backup with charger - by connecting battery it can operate for hours without power
2. Built-in 2 x Com servers (interface RS232/RS485/FO can be selected as option), gives ES/ER100 the option to be used in existing turbines, where serial ports are often used.  The latest version of Gateway fully supports this feature
3. Single 24 V DC supply
4. 4 x alarm outputs relay. 2 can be user configured
5. Spanning tree support for redundant Ethernet communication
6. VLAN
7. SNMP
8. Web server for configuration (HMI)
9. Remote software update

ER100 has additional features that are required for router operation:

1. OpenVPN server
2. Redundant internet connection, with automatic fall back
3. Automatic Dyndns login
4. Firewall
5. Timer server/client
6. SOCKS server
